It has been interesting to read about all the battles in the electronics field over the last few years. Apple truly did change the world with the introduction of the iphone and the ipad. Years have past though and competitors have caught up, even surpassed Apple at their own game.
Don't get me wrong, Apple is still a great company and I fully expect great things to come from them, I am just not sure those things will be game changers as in the past. I also should point out that Apples niche has never been inventing new things, They instead have concentrated on making things we already use better. That fact has escaped wallstreet though, in their eyes the multibillion dollar company is expected to reinvent the wheel every year. It is quite the legacy Steve Jobs left the company and one I think will be difficult to even come close to living up to.
All this brings me to a point that often leaves me scratching my head, It is about jailbreaking.....not jailbreaking itself but rather the talent behind it. These people know apples operating system even better than apple does, so why is it a multibillion dollar company does not bring them in to the fold. To take that a step further why doesn't samsung ,google or other tech giants. These young kids in the jailbreak scene could bring valuable insights in to what future operating systems should look like. I don't know what their price would be but I am sure they have one. So take note, instead of fighting the jailbreak community, embrace them....Learn from them how to provide open source while still keeping control. Its possible and as a consumer I can say for sure that is what we all want. A secure environment but not so limiting. So Apple, this is for you....start hiring and let them come up with a jailbreak you can embrace.
