I thought I would go ahead and add another today, This was the companion piece to Fridays Fairy that I started this blog out with last week. The flowers were photographed in infrared.....These two really are two of a kind :) , I tried doing some more of them but they just never turned out acceptable to me. I am very proud of these two though.
The background of this one was a separate digital art piece I did but every now and then if something strikes me funny I will go with it ;).... Sometimes it works, sometimes not
This one is a mixture of several , you may even recognize the cloud formations from the IR shot I posted to the infrared blog the other day. There are many programs on the market now that let you add or keep color in a B&W shot and It certainly is dramatic.... Becoming way to common now though
I am a big fan of 2001,a space odyssey and the monolith has found its way on to many of my paintings. The idea of a shape for something that truly can't be explained is fascinating. The monolith does represent God to me and although it is the figment of Dr Clark's imagination. I subscribe to the belief that God is still with us, standing by to intervene at just the right moments.... Guiding his creations.
It is truly a spiritual object dreamt by a man. Dimensions 1:4:9 In the past I never said much about my art pieces because interpretation is always best left to the viewer. That's one reason I like abstract work so much because it is very cool how people see different things not even intended by the artist. However this is a blog and so I am providing my perspective on what I was thinking. Crossover was simply meant to represent past present and future with a young child starting that journey.... Still in b&w because we do often bring the past with us.
I had planned on posting a different one this morning, but with the Meteor strike in Russia this morning it made me think of this one, titled "but I couldn't kill you" I think it is powerful sometimes to just place two photos together with out much editing at all to tell a story.
Happy Valentines Day everyone! This piece used another hubble space telescope image, The universe is pretty but can be brutal :)
The Hubble Space telescope has provide so many beautiful images and I often use them in my artwork. This one was created using the Orion Nebula
